It was founded by its original owner Leonard Hanneken in 1975. Since 1997 a 2nd generation of family ownership has taken the helm and Akron continues to grow as one of the leading electrical contracting firms for both design/build and plan/spec projects. For over 45 years Akron has been specializing in manufacturing facilities, retail, restaurant, healthcare and senior living facilities. Our projects range from small tenant finishes to multimillion dollar developments. With the rule of “The client comes first.” we strive to give the most competitive pricing and hands on individual attention to each and every project from the beginning concept stage to the final stage of delivery. Akron Electric is a member of IBEW safety program with zero recordable accidents or fatalities. Our insurance experience modification rate is .87.
